In 2001 Richard Anderson Ltd opened for business on London's world-renowned Savile Row. At the time it was the first new tailoring house to open on The Row in 50 years.
The dream, for founders Richard Anderson, Brian Lishak and Clive Gilkes, was to give life back to a fashion icon and British institution Savile Row. The three men shared a passion for fine English clothing, and saw an opportunity to take the age-old craft of bespoke tailoring into the future.
Between them, the founders of Richard Anderson Ltd have over 100 years tailoring experience. Both Richard Anderson and Brian Lishak have worked on The Row all of their working lives, with Richard Anderson having spent 20 years training at Huntsman before the establishment of Richard Anderson Ltd.
Shortly after the company was founded, Richard Anderson Ltd acquired Strickland and Sons Ltd, one of Savile Row's oldest tailoring houses. Founded in 1780, Strickland's was one of the first tailors to travel abroad to service their many clients in the United States and Canada. Richard Anderson Ltd continue this business tradition, making regular trips to the United States, Canada and Japan, where demand for bespoke tailoring is higher than ever before.
In little over seven years, Richard Anderson Ltd has achieved both financial and creative success. The company is living up to the vision held by its founders: to create suits of life-long quality for modern men and women. Richard Anderson Ltd is dedicated to producing the finest quality, handcrafted British product for its clients.
